Dr Mark Baxter is a Medical Oncologist working in the University of Dundee and NHS Tayside. His research focuses on improving cancer outcomes for older adults with cancer.

I was recruited to Dundee from the University of California San Diego, and Ninewells Cancer Campaign provided the start-up funds to kick-start my independent work and recruit a PhD student.

Dundee was an exciting place for me to come and set up my group because it really is world-leading for biological sciences, and as you would expect, it has some cutting-edge research facilities.

In my lab we are interested in understanding how cancer cells become resistant to treatment and how they spread through the body and invade distant organs.
