Linda’s Story

Linda has been fundraising for Ninewells Cancer Campaign for 18 years in memory of her sister Alison who died of Ovarian cancer in 2000 at the age of 52.  

Every year Linda organises a fundraising activity and donates the proceeds to four local charities, Ninewells Cancer Campaign has been fortunate to receive £1,600 as a result of Linda’s hard work and dedication over the years.  

Linda has organised various activities including bake sales, and on her golden wedding anniversary asked friends and family to donate to her chosen charities in lieu of gifts.  

In 2020, inspired by her granddaughter Molly who was training to become a mental health nurse Linda decided to make face masks for those working within the NHS and the local community. Linda received support from not only her friends and family but also local businesses and went on to raise £1,000 for four local charities.
