What does NCC do?

People chatting in a lab

Ninewells Cancer Campaign exists to support innovation and teaching in cancer research at Ninewells Hospital; making a difference to the lives of local people affected by cancer, helping ensure the treatment they receive is the best it can be, as well as impacting cancer patients across the world.

The current ambition of the Ninewells Cancer Campaign is to help build the next generation of cancer researchers in Tayside. This will ensure we remain at the forefront of new developments in cancer treatments and bring them quickly into the clinic and benefit local patients. In 2021 we launched the ‘The Lady Fraser Fellowships’ a doctoral training programme that will see us bring together clinicians and scientific researchers as we develop our work in precision medicine and translational research.

Pioneering research is at the heart of Ninewells Cancer Campaign, it is vital for the development of new treatments, drug discovery and ultimately saving lives.

The development of precision medicine and translational research will allow us to take findings from the laboratory and apply them in clinical practice, through clinical trials and experimental medicine we will be able to offer treatment, hope and time to cancer patients we will be able to offer treatment, hope and time to cancer patients.
