Professor Bob Steele – Chairperson

I came to Dundee in 1996 as Professor of Surgery, and right from the outset I became involved with the Ninewells Cancer Campaign (NCC)  thanks to the encouragement of Jacqui Wood and Pat MacPherson.  I have now retired from clinical practice but I continue to have a major interest in Bowel Cancer Screening, in terms of both organisation and research and I also chair the UK National Screening Committee. 

I took over the chair of NCC on Lady Fiona Fraser’s retirement last year, and I hope that the Committee will continue to prosper as it did under her guidance.  It has for many years played an important role in supporting the cancer endeavours of Ninewells Hospital and the University of Dundee, and I shall work to the best of my ability to ensure that it continues to do so.
