Welcome Morven!

Professor Russell Petty is delighted to have appointed his first PhD student in Dundee, supported by funds raised locally by the Ninewells Cancer Campaign during their recent very successful fundraising Appeal. Morven Shuttleworth first graduated in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Dundee in 2014 and with Distinction in 2015 from the MRes Cancer Biology postgraduate degree programme run by the University of Dundee Division of Cancer Research. Morven joins Professor Petty’s translational cancer team as a PhD student, jointly supervised by Dr Gillian Smith. Morven’s work will focus on oesophageal cancer, Professor Petty’s principal clinical interest, and will allow the team to better understand the many complex factors which contribute to inter-patient differences in disease progression and treatment response.
