Lady Fiona Fraser, Chair of the Ninewells Cancer Campaign, was joined by Dr Gillian Smith and Dr Marios Stavridis in Forfar on Saturday 15th November to celebrate the successful completion of a major fundraising initiative centred around the 2014 Marafun and raffle, a biannual community fundraising event which has been organised since 2002 by the Rotary Club of Forfar.
We were delighted to be able to congratulate Mrs Elizabeth Ward following her recent 90th birthday celebrations, when she very generously asked that donations to the Ninewells Cancer Campaign were made in lieu of presents.
Mrs Ward is pictured with her daughter Maureen Riley presenting a cheque for £1050 to Lady Fiona Fraser and Dr Gillian Smith, one of the research group leaders in the Jacqui Wood Cancer Centre.
In September 2014 Amy and 10 of her closest friends (Gillian Docherty, Janine Mckenzie, Janey Neville, Lynne Goodall, Corrie Auchterlonie, Katie Wilson, Chloe Johnstone, Steph Sommerville, Laurie Greenhill and Wendy Stewart) rallied together to raise as much money as possible for Ninewells Cancer Campaign by climbing Ben Nevis. The girls wanted the money to go to NCC as Dundee is where all of their loved ones are treated and cared for if they are diagnosed with cancer. It a cause particularly close to Amy’s heart as her Mum recently battled cancer and her partners Gran passed away last ye
